Each person is on their own unique journey with arthritis, so we support people in finding the best path for them. We are not clinicians and do not give medical advice, but we do try to offer advice and provide activities that support clinical guidelines to reduce pain and improve mobility on a daily basis.
There are often long periods of time between clinical appointments or treatments, without guidance or support. Our aim is to bridge the gap and provide opportunities to minimise the impact arthritis has on daily life through four key areas: exercise, nutrition, pain management and mindfulness. We believe good self-care is a vital way to maintain well-being and enables people to take control over their condition mentally and physically.

Our adapted exercise and yoga sessions help reduce pain on movement and improve mobility. They are suitable for everyone, regardless of mobility or experience.
Hydrotherapy is proven to be effective for recovery after surgery, and in maintaining healthy joints. We offer free sessions in Market Harborough to members.

Our Living with Arthritis workshops cover all four key areas and help people to develop self-care strategies that work for them. We can deliver these at our office or in the community.
Social events are an essential part of the charity, offering people the chance to build friendships and share experiences, as well as reducing loneliness in isolated members of the arthritis community.

As a user-led charity, Arthritis Support Leicestershire offers a level of authenticity and trust that is difficult to replicate elsewhere, because it is shaped by people who are living with arthritis themselves. As a user-led charity, Arthritis Support Leicestershire offers a level of authenticity and trust that is difficult to replicate elsewhere, because it is shaped by people who are living with arthritis themselves. This lived experience ensures that support, advice, and activities are grounded in real-world understanding rather than theory, making them more relevant, practical, and empathetic.
Members benefit from knowing they are being supported by people who genuinely “get it,” which helps to build confidence, reduce isolation, and create a stronger sense of community. For those considering joining, this user-led approach is particularly reassuring, making it more approachable, authentic, and welcoming to new individuals and families seeking support.
